The Makarim Youth Programme will solve these problems for parents and young people alike, inshaAllah.

Curriculum
Essential courses on the foundations of Iman and spirituality.
Weekly Sessions
Weekly talking sessions covering a wide range of topics relevant to young Muslims growing up in the culture of modernity.
Mentoring
One to one mentoring sessions and constant access to Islamic scholars who are experienced mentors.
General Outline for Each Day
5:45 PM – 6:40 PM: Spiritual Development (SD)
Focus on personal growth, mindfulness, and navigating modern challenges from an Islamic perspective. This session includes practical worship elements such as Fiqh (rules of prayer, purity, etc.), character development, and spiritual awareness. Additionally, it integrates Tajweed (Qur’anic pronunciation) and Qur’anic recitation, helping students refine their recitation skills while deepening their connection to the Qur’an.
6:45 PM – 7:45 PM: Foundations of Faith (FoF)
This session covers core Islamic beliefs (Aqeedah) with a focus on theological topics like the existence of Allah, understanding truth, and engaging with contemporary issues related to Islamic identity. Students explore rational proofs of faith and address challenging questions about God, worship, and the nature of suffering.
7:45 PM – 8:30 PM: Isha Prayer & Reflection/Q&A
After Isha Salah, there will be a group reflection or open Q&A session. This time allows students to discuss key takeaways from the lessons, clarify doubts, and engage in deeper discussions about the day's topics in a more informal setting.

Mindfulness in Salah – Developing focus and Khushu’.
Fiqh of Taharah – Rules of purification (Wudu, Ghusl, etc.).
Fiqh of Salah (Part 1) – Obligatory elements of prayer.
Fiqh of Salah (Part 2) – Common mistakes and improving prayer.
Islam & Modern Challenges – Addressing toxic masculinity and feminism.
Islamic Manners – Adab of everyday life.
Gratitude & Patience – Integrating these values into daily life.
Respect for Parents & Elders – Islamic guidance on relationships.
Foundations of Faith (FoF):
Science, the Heart, and the Mind – Critiquing modern worldviews and exploring God’s existence.
Fitrah: Our Primordial Nature – Understanding the natural inclination towards belief in God.
Rational Proof of God – Teleological and cosmological arguments for God's existence.
The Concept of Truth in Islam – How to establish what is true.
Why Worship God (Part 1) – Human limitations and the need for worship.
Why Worship God (Part 2) – God's mercy and human benefit from worship.

Ramadan Preparation – Spiritual significance and practical planning.
Purity of the Heart – Removing jealousy and arrogance.
Managing Anger – Islamic teachings on emotional intelligence.
Developing Consistency in Worship – Building Istiqamah.
Forgiveness in Islam – Toward self and others.
Love of Allah – Strengthening the connection with Allah.

Existence of God (Part 1) – Teleological and cosmological arguments.
Existence of God (Part 2) – Addressing common doubts.
How Evil Coexists with a Merciful God (Part 1) – Identifying and understanding evil.
How Evil Coexists with a Merciful God (Part 2) – God’s perspective on suffering.
How Evil Coexists with a Merciful God (Part 3) – Finding meaning in suffering.
Proof of Prophethood – Understanding why Muhammad (PBUH) is the final messenger.
Shirk & Tawheed – The essence of monotheism and its importance.
Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People? – Understanding trials and tribulations.
Term 3: June 14th, 2025 – October 11th, 2025 (21 weeks)
Spiritual Development (SD):
Dhul Hijjah Preparation – Significance and Fiqh of Hajj.
Tawbah (Repentance) – Turning back to Allah.
Fiqh of Zakah – Understanding charity and its importance.
Fiqh of Marriage – Islamic guidelines for family life.
Managing Stress & Anxiety – Coping through spirituality.
Overcoming Addictions – Breaking bad habits through Islamic teachings.
Fiqh of Islamic Finance – Earning halal and avoiding riba.
Purifying the Soul – Practical steps for tazkiyah (spiritual purification).
Foundations of Faith (FoF):
Human Limitations & Biases – Understanding anthropomorphism and God’s nature.
The Afterlife (Akhirah) – Belief in heaven and hell.
Why Worship God (Part 4) – Final reflections on human indebtedness to God.
Understanding Hadith – Its role in establishing belief and practice.
Islamic Ethics – Living by halal and haram.
Interaction with Non-Muslims – Engaging with the wider world while maintaining Islamic identity.
Islamic Worldview – Balancing tradition with modern challenges.
Concluding Session – Reflection and wrap-up for the entire course.
Youth, young men and women, over the age of 14 years of age who are willing to learn and develop.
There are no academic prerequisites. As long as a student can effectually participate in the programme, he/she is welcome to apply.
Young people who are curious about Islam and keen to learn more whose parents will remain engaged and involved in their learning. We cannot meet our objectives with young teenagers whose parents are not going to take an active interest in this and give their support when we need it.

Course Schedule
We are starting the course after the October half term.
The course will be a face-to-face at the Hamptons centre or online
Schedule: Every Thursday evening, 6pm - 8.45 pm
Start date: Friday 1st November.
Application deadline: Wednesday 30th October.
Course Fees
£400 per annum payable in 3 instalments as follows:
First instalment:
£200 before start date. Places cannot be confirmed without payment of fees.
Second instalment:
£100 by 1st of Jan 2023
Third instalment:
£100 by 1st of April 2023
Notes and terms:
We request that you do not waste resources and time by making us chase up fees. You must ensure that fees are paid on time.
The first instalment is completely non-refundable after enrolment is closed. At that stage, we cannot replace students who drop out. Subsequent instalments may be compassionately refunded if a student drops out due to exceptional and extenuating circumstances
Other expenses:
Books and resources must be paid for by students/guardians.
If circumstances permit some activities such as special events, trips or retreats to be organised, parents would have to pay for them additionally. We will keep everyone updated on plans.

Sibling discount: £50 per sibling.
MYP Mentors
Our mentors lead the weekly sessions and provide one-to-one mentoring for students. They are friendly, accessible, and Islamically educated, with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by Muslim youth today.
